This Privacy Policy applies to the Herbix AI mobile application
("Application"), developed by the Herbix AI Team. By using the
Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in
accordance with this policy.
Information Collection and Use
The Application may collect certain information automatically when you
download and use it, including:
- Your device's IP address and model
- Usage data (scans performed, features used, session duration)
- App settings (preferences, schedule settings, notification preferences)
- Operating system version

- Plant feature data derived from AI analysis (species, health indicators)
- Your garden library — saved plants, scan results, and health history

Your Plant Photos
Your Photos Are Private: We take your data seriously.
Your plant photos and analysis data are:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- Never sold to third parties
- Never shared publicly without your explicit permission
- Used only for generating your plant analysis within the app
- Deletable at any time through the app settings
- Stored securely with industry-standard encryption
Plant Image Processing
How We Process Your Plant Photos:

Data Collected: Plant images uploaded by the user for identification and diagnosis

Purpose: To analyze plant features and generate AI-based identification, health scores, and care recommendations

Storage: Images are not permanently stored on our servers. They are processed temporarily and deleted after analysis.

Third-Party Sharing: Plant images may be securely transmitted to trusted AI service providers (such as OpenAI or similar providers) strictly for processing purposes. These providers do not store or use the data beyond processing.

Retention: Image data is retained only for the duration required to generate results and is deleted immediately afterward.
AI Processing
How AI Uses Your Content: When you perform a scan:
- Your photo is sent securely to our AI servers for processing
- The AI generates species identification, health scores, and a personalized care plan based on your results
- Processed data may be used in anonymized, aggregated form to improve our plant recognition models
- We do not use your photos to identify you personally or link them to other services
- All AI processing is encrypted and performed on secure infrastructure
Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services to help operate and improve the
application. These services may have access to anonymized or aggregated
data only.
The Application uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat (for subscription management)
- Apple Analytics / Firebase (for app performance monitoring)
- Crashlytics (for stability reporting and bug tracking)
- AI Processing Services (for plant identification and diagnosis — all data is encrypted during processing)
- Cloud Storage Services (for garden backup and sync functionality)
Data Storage and Security
Local & Cloud Storage
- Your garden library and scan history are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to the cloud for backup.
- If you use device backup features (e.g., iCloud or Google Drive), your data may be included in your personal cloud backup.
- We do not sell your plant photos, garden data, or personal information to third parties.
- All data transmissions are encrypted using industry-standard protocols (TLS 1.3).
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized
access, alteration, or destruction. This includes encryption, secure
servers, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method
of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
Opt-Out Rights
You may stop data collection at any time by:
- Uninstalling the application from your device
- Requesting account and data deletion via support (email below)
- Disabling analytics in the app settings
- Deleting individual scans or your entire garden history within the app
- Clearing your local cache through app settings
Data Retention
We retain user data as long as you use the app and maintain an active
account. If you delete the app, local data is removed from your device.
You can request complete deletion of any cloud-synced data by contacting
support. Garden history and scan results remain stored until you explicitly
delete them or request account deletion. Subscription data is retained by
the App Store provider for billing history in accordance with their policies.
Age Restrictions
Age Requirement: This app is available to users of all
ages. However, users under 13 must have parental consent. We do not
knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under
13 without parental permission. If you believe a child under 13 has
provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us
immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access to your personal data, plant photos, and scan results
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion of your data (including all photos and scan history)
- Objection to data processing
- Data portability (export your garden history)
- Restriction of processing
- Withdrawal of consent for plant image processing

International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your
own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in
accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in
our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this
page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this
policy periodically. For significant changes affecting your plant photos
or personal information, we will notify you through the app or via email.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what
personal information is collected, the right to delete personal
information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information.
We do not sell personal information.
